SCIENTISTS
Most of our Scientists hold a Ph.D. designation.
Coupled with their education, our senior Scientists also have
extensive backgrounds in testing nicotine containing products.
Our Scientists have dual roles – client
specific and science specific. From the client perspective they
must:
- ensure quality of data by reviewing, clarifying
and validating final results;
- maintain and develop compliant methods for
analyses; and
- manage all projects, project teams and timelines.
From the science perspective, our team of
Scientists concentrate a portion of their time contributing to improving
the understanding of the science of testing nicotine containing products. They:
- actively participate in discussions and inter-laboratory
joint experiments with industry through coordinated scientific
task forces (i.e. CORESTA);
- present abstracts and posters at scientific
conferences held by groups such as CORESTA, the Tobacco
Science Research Conference, and the Asian Collaborative
Study; and
- participate in, designing, and developing
research studies funded by Labstat - results of these studies
may be presented at conferences and to clients, and/or published.
OPERATIONAL STAFF
In support of our Scientists we have a
large, well-trained, operational staff consisting of statisticians,
analysts and technicians charged with product preparation, sample
generation, sample preparation, sample analyses and data preparation.
Labstat is committed to investing its resources
to ensure competency and expertise. Our operational staff must
complete an extensive training program prior to assuming the corresponding
job function. Compliant with our internal
training standard operating procedures, all staff must
complete training with an experienced and approved internal or
external designate. Our staff must clearly demonstrate competency
through an evaluative process prior to assuming their new role.
To achieve continuity
of service and ensure we are flexible to meet client
timelines, many in our operational team are cross-trained in other
related roles.
All of our employees embrace our corporate principles of
customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, integrity and respect.
